PORTSMOUTH — DeStefano Architects, Pine Brook Corporation and Appledore Engineering were selected by the YMCA Camp Belknap Property/Sustainability Committee to design and construct a new headquarters building in Tuftonboro. DeStefano Architects will continue its longtime association with Pine Brook Corporation of Kittery, Maine, and Appledore Engineering of Portsmouth for the project. The project will include design and construction of a new year-round building to house camp office functions with sustainable initiatives projected throughout the building and site design. Camp Belknap, an all-boys summer camp, recently joined the small, elite group of camps whose legacy spans 100 years or more. Generations of families, campers and staff have watched the pine groves mature and buildings be added to the site since opening in 1903, and the camp still thrives. Its founders and succeeding generations of directors and leaders have created and continually improved on something special — a blend of place, tradition and purpose. DeStefano Architects and the other team members look forward to playing their part. For more about DeStefano Architects, visit www.destefanoarchitects.com.
