Between Two Waters

Starting with an existing home in need of such extensive repair to make it adequate for four season living, the client decided that the house must come down in order to create something more fitting in its place.

Per local zoning, we were required to design the new home within the previous foundation. Fortunately, the considerable slope allowed us to nestle the building into the landscape concealing much needed additional space.

Traditional window patterns were broken down and given a whimsical spin by using a spirited arrangement of panes. Bays and dormers frame points of interest and offer a sunny respite. A composition of conventional shingle style and a redefined window arrangement creates an upscale beach house that cleanly pairs with its environment.
