A popular downtown Italian eatery, Ristorante Massimo is known for its quaint brick and stone ambiance and traditional dishes. When they recently had the opportunity to acquire the vacant space above the restaurant, they reached to D|A to design a space that complimented the fine dining experience with a more casual dining environment focused on small plates. The renovation of the upper-level resulted in a bar and lounge that promotes a warm gathering space in a more relaxed setting of warm wood tones and rich leather seating. The new bar provides charming, European surroundings where patrons can take advantage of the integrated wine preservation technology to enjoy a single glass of fine wine without buying the whole bottle.
The design was recognized with a 2014 NHHB Cornerstone award for commercial construction.
